Preparations are under way for three renowned Maldives chefs to travel to Singapore for the Asian Pastry Cup, the first time the island nation will be represented at this international showcase of talent. The event will set pastry chefs against each other in a competition that will culminate in a display of exquisite pastry creations. Team Maldives comprises of Chef Aminath Hameed from Conrad Maldives Rangali Island and Chef Ibrahim Fareed from Soneva Fushi along with Chef Indra Kumar Limbu from Hulhulé Island Hotel; they will compete in the event held from April 24 to 25 at the Singapore Expo during Food & Hotel Asia 2018.
Bestbuy Maldives Pvt Ltd (BBM) and Maldives Exhibition & Conference Services (MECS) are proud to sponsor the teams participation in the competition. The chefs spoke of what the competition means to them and of the support they have had from the sponsors and their hotels:

Of the team of three, two chefs will compete and create their pastry masterpieces, the third will be a jury member who will be part of the judging team, led by the founder of the World Pastry Cup, Gabriel Paillasson. Associated with the “Club Coupe du Monde”, the Asian Pastry Cup is the official selective platform in Asia, to the World Pastry Cup in Lyon.
The Asian Pastry Cup aims to:

- Promote the best Asian Pastry Chef of the year from the region
